When I found this dog crate on Amazon I was curious as to how well made it could be for such a low price (I got the smallest one, 18x14x12). When it arrived the next day I was really pleased with how easy it was to set up. No tools, no wing nuts, just lift the sides up and snap it together. It is perfect for my needs. Bella, a little Yorkie, is fully grown and can stand up in it just fine. I now have a fleece liner for it and sometimes she walks in there on her own and hangs out in her little house. I have added photos of her in the crate under “Customer Images”. I am very pleased with this purchase.

If you have a medium sized doggie and are looking for a crate because you live in an apartment, this particular model is a good choice. Crate training is amazingly simple (just don’t use it for punishment–make it a happy experience when your puppy go into his crate). We have been using this for two months, and he takes to it easily.1. Easy to put together and fold away. Solid black e-coat steel wire, conjoined with small metal plates with welded corners facing out. It comes with a slightly smaller divider that you can hook to the insides of the crate. As our puppy got bigger, we moved the divider and eventually removed it.
2. The two doors (one on the long end is off-centered) are not removable and opens only one way so it’s not omni-directional when you place it in tight spaces. You may want to check out some crates with three doors if so.
3. The bottom tray is made of black-composite plastic material, easy to wipe clean and slide out from under the short end of the door.
4. I like the double latch, but some people may find it a little more work to open and close day-to-day.
5. If you buy a crate cover, check out Cratewear Pet Dreams 3-Piece (which fits this model well, but only work with the door on the short end).
6. For this price, it’s a good crate to highly consider because your goal is to have a sanctuary for your puppy (for time out and quiet-time) and to housebreak your dog and/or temperate from negative behavior (such as chewing furniture, etc.)

I purchased this crate from Petsmart for my newly adopted dog. They size these crates based on dog weight, but I would measure your dog to make sure they fit.My dog is less than 45 lbs, but his head touches the top of this crate when he sits up. He has room to lay down, but he can’t really stretch out. I am ordering the next size up from Amazon for him however, and will use this one as a travel crate.
It set up in less than a minute, and everything works very well on it. The crate seems very sturdy and I’ve had no problems at all.

We purchased two of these crates for our 60 lb dogs over 2 months ago. The 42″ size is quite large, in fact, both dogs can sleep comfortably together in one. The crates are like cozy, mini tents and my husband and I joke that we’d like to sleep in them. They are very light to move around, and easy to fold up or down.We’ve had two problems. One is that our newest dog (a year old puppy) chewed through one of the zippers within the first week. We solved that problem with some training, and we still use the crate with that opening against the wall. So obviously not for chewers.
The second problem is the most concerning for me. Other people have mentioned the smell… I can’t state this strongly enough – these crate smell like a petroleum product. We initially had the crates in our great room, and sure enough the smell seemed to go away after a few weeks. We recently moved the crates into our bedroom and discovered that in fact, they do still smell. Strongly enough that I’m concerned about the effect on our dogs overtime. We usually don’t zipper the doors anymore, so the dogs can come and go as they please and they are still choosing to go in their crates (like I said earlier – cozy!). But the smell bothers me, so I can imagine how it must bother the dogs who have a much more keen sense of smell.
The prices on these crates keep going down (other websites sold them a while back retail for 0) so I would imagine that they are aware of the smell problem….
I highly recommend this crate for dogs who don’t mind being crated, as it would be very easy to break free if the desire was there. My dog loves his crates and typically lies in them for naps when he isn’t even required to. He really seems to enjoy this one, especially with the ability to open the top and side. It is lightweight and easy to travel with (handle included). I bought this to replace my previous collapsable crate which is all steel and too heavy to haul around. It has a nice appearance to it too. The only complaint I have with it is the “new smell” which I am hoping goes away soon. My dog doesn’t seem to mind it, but I can’t stand it. This is an easy to assemble (& disassemble, or fold flat) dog crate. It is well designed and easy to transport (with a handle at the top). The (included, easy to wash & dry) fleece pad needed to be laundered (to remove excess “fuzz”) upon first receiving, but it is perfect comfort for my recently adopted toy poodle. The durable tray that fits beneath the floor of the crate is isolated from the pad above and is a great addition to the crate design. The bars are black coated and waterproof for “rust-free” beauty. The locking mechanism is uncomplicated and secure. I am very glad to have purchased it for “crate-training” use and (possible) transportation safety, as well as for my dog’s general “denning” instincts. With the door open, my dog moves in and out of the crate freely.This cage was really easy to put together. It took me about 3 minutes to put together and I am a 11 year old girl. We were skeptical of putting a teething yellow lab pup in a fabric crate, but when we saw this in a local store, we were impressed! Very sturdy and tight! Extemely well made.We bought the E36, even though it was a little small for a full size labrador retriever, and we’re glad we did. It’s perfect for him now; he’s 9 weeks old and he took to it like a den. He walks right in when he’s tired. A few minor corrections about not mouthing it, along with a few great toys and rawhide chews, and he’s been absolutely fine. He loves it.
It’s surprisingly nice to be able to open the top as well. We can pick him right up and carry him outside after a nap.
I would recommend using a little softened bar soap on the zippers, because they’re very tight. And of course, I can’t recommend leaving a teething pup in it for long hours. Nor would you put an aggresive or vicious animal in this crate.
We keep it right in our bedroom and the zipper jingles when he scratches the door. We get up and lift him out and bring him to the door. Fabulous!
By the time he outgrows this crate, he probably won’t need it, but I may have to buy him the larger one anyway just because he loves it!
I had looked everywhere to find this crate in the older style model which the company changed about a year ago. The description when I ordered it said it had the stake tie down straps which is specifically what I wanted to secure crates on a rack in my van for travel to shows and the pictures showed the larger mesh window areas of the older model which provide better ventilation. What I got was the newer model which doesn’t have tie down straps and has smaller mesh windows. The picture still shows the larger mesh window area and stake tie down straps, which is not what the newer model has. The description has now been changed to reflect the newer mode, but picture has not been changed. Amazon should make sure their pictures and description reflect exactly what they are selling!This brand crate is well made and holds up well as I have three of the older model this size and two of a larger size model. I do not like the changes the company made to the newer version though being smaller mesh windows on sides and no tie down straps.

I purchased this for my little yorkshire terrier to stay in when we all leave the house to go to work. Its wonderful. It is the perfect size and doesnt take up alot of room. My little dog likes to jump up and stand against the walls of this product and they dont fall or shake so it is very sturdy yet very light. It took me a minute to assemble the product and the little door makes it so great we leave it open and my little dog goes in and comes out when he wants. This is a great buy and cheap too.This product is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I have a chihuahua who’s almost 11 years old, and has occasional accidents. Since having the carpeting replaced, and not wanting to put her into a claustrophobic kennel (just seemed wrong), I went for this product. It’s so roomy! and the design is feminine, sturdy, lightweight and open. The gate is so well made and very cute and useful.For those of use who work and need to keep our pets in a controlled area when we can’t watch for accidents, this pet pen is a livesaver, and my dog absolutely loves it. There’s enough room for a small oil-filled heater, her large burrow bed and blankets, water bowl, bone-chewing/play area. Also, I sectioned off a small area for her potty pads, so she doesn’t have to “hold it” when I’m gone for longer periods of time. The pen is so roomy, that there’s plenty of distance between the potty pads, her bed, and water dish. You can also customizing the shape of the pen. It’s the greatest!
In terms of waterproofing, I lined the bottom with a shower curtain from the dollar store and topped with a queen-sized quilt. It’s soft and comfy and accident-proof! Even my cat sneaks in there to catch a few winks.
This is so much better than a kennel or keeping your pet in the bathroom while you’re away.

The Iris pen has stood the test of time, and has saved my dog from having to be in a confined, oppressive area while I’m away at work during the day. Today, I am purchasing another of these pens, which will serve as fencing around the patio of my small cottage. Can’t think of a more perfect weather resistant, durable, SAFE fence for my dog (and cat who can’t jump high distances) to play within outdoors. Two of these pens linked together will provide a rather large fenced area (over 12 feet).
Believe that from a distance, the fencing might appear as a picket fence. This will not only serve to keep the pets safe, but will look sharp and never dry rot or warp. Seriously, this is the most versatile, liberating pet product on the market. Can’t wait to see my pets coming and going through their own pet door into the fenced patio, and be outside whenever they please to catch the late morning/afternoon sun (when it’s out!). Will cover a portion of the fencing with some type of tarp for when it rains.
How cool is this product? Still say this is the best purchase I’ve ever made on Amazon, and I buy lots of stuff.

I cannot believe this crate was only !!! I looked around both online and in the big pet stores and crates of this size/quality (I ordered the 32″ x 23″) were +. And, because I have an Amazon Visa card I got free shipping, love that! People, you must know your dog! If your dog isn’t already crate trained, don’t put it in a soft-sided crate and expect the crate to withstand the abuse it’s going to get from a frantic dog trying to get out! No soft-sided crate is meant for that. This crate can be put up in less than half a minute. The zippers are high quality. It does not have a carrying case, a plus for me. It simply folds back up and is held together by heavy black plastic quick-snaps. There is a carrying handle on the one long side. I also purchased the Med/Large Precision Pet SnooZZy sleeper bed offered by Amazon. Which is basically a crate mat (my dog prefers it to his bed). I placed the mat inside the crate and even though the mat is a few inches longer than the crate the crate can still be easily folded up and snapped together with the mat inside. This was another plus for me, as I already have enough to remember and carry when going somewhere with my dog, the last thing I’d want to do is forget the crate mat. I left the crate set up for a few days to air out, as it had a strong “plastic” smell from being new. The roof supports that keep the crate erect were a little difficult to latch on my first try, but I feel this is because the fabric is new and hasn’t been stretched yet. I’m very happy with my purchase.I am very pleased with my purchase of this crate. It is very durable, and my dog loves it. This is a great crate for travel or to keep in your bedroom. It does not have some thing to place in the bottom, so I recommend a mat or the cut-apart bedding for the bottom of crates.Note: This crate is not for aggressive dogs. Aggressive chewers or scratchers would do do well with a material type crate.
